GATE CITY ALUMNI CHAPTER SCHOLARSHIPS
THE PROGRAM
The Gate City Alumni Chapter has established a scholarship program to assist Guilford County High School students who are pursuing a college education at North Carolina A&T State University. This scholarship is offered each year to one incoming Freshman and is renewable for four (4) years as long as the student meets yearly requirements. The current award is $1250 USD per semester.
This scholarship program is administered by the Gate City Alumni Chapter of North Carolina A&T State University. Awards are granted without regard to age, color, disability, gender, gender identity, gender expression, national origin, political affiliation, race, religion, sexual orientation, genetic information, veteran status, or any other basis protected by law.
ELIGIBILITY
To be eligible, a candidate must:
- Be a United States citizen who will graduate from an accredited high school prior to the fall semester of the year for which the selection is made.
- Be a high school senior currently enrolled in a Guilford County, North Carolina High School.
- Meet the requirements for admission to North Carolina A&T State University. Must apply to the University prior to the application deadline.
- Have a minimum weighted grade point average of 3.0
- Not be the recipient of a full academic or athletic scholarship.
- Demonstrate financial need.

The following items must be submitted by March 15:
- Completed, online application
- Resume
- Unofficial High School Transcript
- FAFSA Submission Summary, including Student Aid Index (SAI)
- Two (2) Letters of Recommendation
- One from school, on letterhead from faculty member or administrator
- One from community organization, on letterhead (e. faith-based; civic; Boy/Girl Scouts; Boys & Girls Club; Jack-N-Jill; pageants/cotillions; etc.)
- Non-relatives
- Standardized test scores (Optional for ’25 – ’26)
- Acknowledgement, Signature and Date
