The Gate City Chapter proudly recognizes Agee “Adrienne” Hairston as our Alumni Spotlight Award Winner for April 2026.
A native of Martinsville, Virginia, Adrienne is a proud graduate of North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University, where she earned her degree in Accounting in 2004. Today, she serves as a Property Accountant, applying the knowledge, discipline, and critical thinking skills strengthened during her time at A&T.
Adrienne chose North Carolina A&T because, from the moment she toured the campus, she felt at home. She could feel the pride, tradition, and spirit of Aggieland and knew she wanted to be part of a university community with such a strong legacy.
One of Adrienne’s most cherished college memories is her graduation day. She first attended A&T in the fall of 1995 but had to pause her journey. In 2002, she returned as a non-traditional student with determination and purpose. Graduating in 2004 with her two daughters present to witness the moment remains one of her proudest accomplishments.
While at A&T, Adrienne learned the importance of critical thinking, a skill that continues to guide her personally and professionally. Her journey reflects perseverance, resilience, and the transformative power of education.
When asked to describe A&T in three words, Adrienne chose: Historical. Pride. Legacy.
The Gate City Chapter celebrates Agee “Adrienne” Hairston for her inspiring Aggie story, her commitment to completing what she started, and the pride she continues to carry as part of the Aggie family. Congratulations on this well-deserved honor!”
