Tell us about yourself.
Hometown: Ringgold, VA

Graduation Year(s): Bachelor of Arts, Marketing, 1996; Certifications: PHR (Professional in Human Resources), SHRM-CP (Society for Human Resources Management Certified Professional), PMP (Project Management Professional), Six Sigma Black Belt, Business Coach

What are you doing now?
I am currently Vice President of Human Resources and Organizational Development for a Science Education company, co-owner of Richmond Auto Glass and a licensed real estate agent. I also serve on various non-profit boards in Guilford and Alamance Counties. In my spare time, I enjoy mentoring youth in our community.

Why did you choose A&T?
I chose A&T because I wanted to attend an HBCU close to home. There were several HBCUs to choose from in my home state, but they were too far away! A&T gave me the HBCU experience, yet I could still go home every weekend.

Share your best college memory.
My best memory while at A&T was being an Upward Bound tutor/mentor. It gave me the opportunity to inspire local high school students by encouraging them to continue their educational journey by attending college.

What Is the most important thing you learned while at A&T?
The most important thing I learned while at A&T is that hard work pays off! As a first generation transfer student, I had a lot to prove to myself and my family in a short period of time. I worked hard, had several job offers my senior year and have been on an upward career trajectory ever since. I wouldn’t be where I am today without the lessons learned at A&T.

Describe A&T in 3 words.
Innovation, world-class, community.

OPTIONAL-What is your greatest professional accomplishment, new job, special award, announcement, etc. you would like to share?
